Monday: By Appointment Want to paint during a time we are not open? Yes, we accept groups and parites by appointment outside of our walk-in hours, please EMAIL MUDROOMSTUDIO@GMAIL.COM to inquire about an after/before hours group. We appreciate if you book at least a week prior, but we might be available last minute, too! ~EMAIL IS THE QUICKEST AND MOST DIRECT WAY TO MAKE A BOOKING~ No coupons or gift cards may be used for after/before hours painting. During our walk-in hours listed above, all size groups or single painters are welcome. Pottery turn around time is 5-10 days for walk-ins. (Rush firing and shipping is available) We give you your pick-up day when you pay: you can pick up your fired pottery on that day, or any day after, anytime during open hours found above, please call if you are coming in for a pick up within an hour before close on a weekday, we will close early if we have no painters on weekdays.

You don't need a class to create your own ceramic art! Just walk-in, choose pottery, and follow instructions given by our helpful staff to create your design with countless stamps, stencils, writer, and other decorating tools! We fire the pottery and it's ready for pick up in about 7-14 days, rush firing is available for additional cost. Your exact pick up day is given at checkout
On Average people spend $24-$30 per person, but creating memories and useful pottery that will last for generations to come, is priceless! Minimum cost starts at $16. The cost of the pottery item includes: all studio time, supplies, glaze fring, and sales tax, there is no additional cost outside of the item cost: what you see is what you pay!

The Mud Room Studio is a place to paint (and make!) your-own-pottery. Walk-in to relax, experiment, and express yourself as you create a unique ceramic masterpiece! Choose from our pre-made, always changing selection of decorative and functional pottery pieces to paint or try your hand at creating your own ceramic piece from clay by registering for a class. We have over 80 low-fire colors and specialty glazes to choose from, including our own custom color “Mud Room Mud”, many tools such as stencils, stamps, sponges, writer bottles, carbon paper, printouts, design books, and interesting texture tools along with countless finished examples for you to be inspired by or imitate. We offer glaze and clay working classes by appointment for novices, kids, serious artists, and specific projects. Our staff is friendly and eager to share tips to make your painting experience pleasant and satisfying. Come back in 4-7 days to pick up your glazed and fired masterpiece (exact pick-up day given at checkout). WE DO NOT CALL WHEN POTTERY IS READY, we give the date on check out and you can pick up that day or any day afterward. We will call with a reminder if it has been a few months. We hold pottery for years! YES we still have your old pottery, call us!
So feel free to come to The Mud Room with friends, the kiddos, that special someone, or for some quality time by yourself. You will be inspired by your own creativity!
STUDIO RATES:
One flat cost per item
The cost of the item is what you pay! No additional studio charges. Firing service is included along with unlimited choice of colors and use of decorating tools. Sales tax is already included in the price.
Bisque Prices:Prices range from $14 and up! An average people spend on a pottery piece for a medium size piece is $24-$30. Functional dinnerware, decorative figurines, and holiday items are available for walk-in purchase. We stock seasonal items and can order or make just about anything you would like to paint. Call ahead if you have something specific in mind and we will let you know if we have it in stock or if we can order/make it. Please allow 12 weeks for special hand-made pottery requests. Ordering is limited due to covid please plan extra time for special orders - Rush shipping is available, cost varies, quote upon request.
ALL glazes are Non-toxic and lead free! Very safe for children.... and ... they even wash out of clothes with water!
***All dinnerware is fully functional, it is microwave safe, handwashing recommended. A dishwasher will not necessarily ruin the item, but it could damage it over time. Never use metal, plastic, or abrasive scouring pads on pottery, especially coffee stained mugs. Soak mugs in salt water and scrub with a washcloth to remove coffee/tea stains. Abrasive cleaning utensils on pottery can scratch off the glazed fininsh and expose bare clay. This is not toxic but we do not recommend using for drinking out of if you chip or scratch away the glaze over time. You now have a great pencil holder!
Take Home Kits: Purchase a bisque pottery piece, purchase glaze colors for $1 each, take home and paint at your leisure. Return anytime to have fired for a $5 firing fee (firing fee is waived if you bring back your kit with the used plastic glaze containers within 60 days). Soft bristled brushes are available for purchase for $3 each, or you can use any type of paint brush you have at home, there is no special brush needed. ***Makes a great addition to a birthday party at your home or family gathering (get those handprints for grandma)! We recommend purchasing non-food functional items to take and paint like figurines, planters, frames, etc. Packages that include brushes are available for group pre-order with 3-4 week advanced notice. Staff will give you an approximate kit prep time if studio is busy with painters, you may have a wait time of up to 60 minutes if you are purchasing several items for take home. Please call ahead and make your kit order over the phone or by email if you need to grab and go and we will call you back when the kit is ready. Items must be painted only with the glaze you purchase from us, if other paints are applied to the pottery or other materials like glitter glue, etc, the piece is no longer firable, we will not fire it and we will not refund. Processing ceramics is a specialized skill, glaze and firing is an artful science. We will do everything we can to try to get your pottery done on the estimated pick up day that we give you at checkout. If the pottery will not be done on time, we will call you. Please call if you are making a special trip from out of town to pick up pottery. Please call if you are picking up within an hour before close on a weekday, we close early on weekdays that we have no painters.
